On March 8, thousands took to the streets globally to demand equal rights, an end to discrimination, and action against sexual violence. From Europe to Latin America and Asia, protests highlighted issues like gender pay gaps, reproductive rights, workplace harassment, and domestic violence.
In some countries, demonstrators called for stronger legal protections, while in others, they protested against policies that threaten women’s freedoms. Many rallies also addressed intersectional issues, including LGBTQ+ rights and labor rights for female workers.
Despite progress, activists stress that gender equality remains a distant goal. They urge governments and societies to take concrete steps toward justice, safety, and empowerment for all women.
