On March 6, 2025, SpaceX’s Starship exploded about ten minutes after launch from Boca Chica, Texas. While the Super Heavy booster landed successfully, the upper stage suffered engine failures, lost control, and disintegrated.

Residents in the Bahamas witnessed the debris streaking across the sky, describing it as a meteor-like event. The incident prompted the FAA to issue temporary ground stops at major Florida airports, affecting nearly 240 flights.

This marks the second Starship failure in 2025, raising concerns over reliability. SpaceX is investigating the cause while continuing development for future Moon and Mars missions.
