Zelenskyy Says He’d Step Down for Ukraine’s NATO Membership

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated he is willing to resign if it helps Ukraine secure NATO membership or achieve peace with Russia. “If this guarantees Ukraine’s security, I am ready,” he said in a recent press conference.

His remarks come amid rising tensions, including Russia’s largest drone attack on Ukraine and disputes over a proposed U.S.-Ukraine mineral deal. Zelenskyy has also pushed back against criticism from former U.S. President Donald Trump, defending Ukraine’s leadership during wartime.

As European leaders gather in Kyiv, Ukraine’s NATO aspirations remain a key focus of international diplomacy.
