U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to members of Iran’s military and government while also calling on Iranian diplomats stationed abroad to seek asylum as the war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran intensifies.
Speaking during a White House event, Trump urged Iranian diplomats around the world to defect from the government and request asylum in foreign countries. He said doing so could help build what he described as a “new and better Iran” after the current conflict.
“We also urge Iranian diplomats around the world to request asylum and to help us shape a new and better Iran with great potential,” Trump said during the remarks.
The statement came amid rapidly escalating military operations in the Middle East, as U.S. and Israeli forces continue strikes targeting Iranian military infrastructure and strategic assets.
“Accept Immunity or Face Guaranteed Death”
Trump also delivered a blunt message to members of Iran’s armed forces, including the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the military, and the police. According to the president, those who surrender and cooperate with the United States could receive immunity, while those who continue fighting risk certain death.
“Accept immunity—we’ll give you immunity,” Trump said. “You’ll be perfectly safe with total immunity, or you’ll face absolutely guaranteed death.”
He called on Iranian forces to lay down their weapons and “stand up for the Iranian people,” claiming that the current leadership in Tehran has lost its ability to defend the country or maintain control.
The remarks represent one of the strongest public messages yet from Washington since the war expanded across several parts of the Middle East.
Escalating Conflict Between the U.S., Israel, and Iran
The comments come as the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran continues to intensify following a series of airstrikes and retaliatory attacks across the region. Military operations have targeted Iranian missile systems, air defenses, and naval assets, while Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes against U.S. bases and allied positions.
The war has already resulted in significant casualties and destruction, with hundreds killed and thousands displaced across multiple countries in the region.
Despite the escalating violence, Trump has suggested that Iran may be seeking negotiations with the United States. However, he also indicated that Washington intends to continue military operations until its strategic objectives are achieved.
A Call for Political Change in Iran
Trump’s appeal to Iranian diplomats seeking asylum appears to be part of a broader strategy aimed at encouraging defections within the Iranian government and security forces.
By offering immunity and urging officials abroad to abandon the current leadership, the administration is signaling support for potential political change in Iran’s governing structure.
“The United States will ensure that whoever leads Iran next will not threaten America or its neighbors,” Trump said during the statement.
As the conflict enters a critical phase, Trump’s message underscores Washington’s dual strategy of military pressure and political outreach aimed at reshaping Iran’s future leadership and security posture.
