President Donald Trump hosted an Iftar dinner at the White House on Thursday, March 27, 2025, to mark the holy month of Ramadan. During his speech, he expressed gratitude to the American Muslim community for their strong support in the 2024 presidential election.

“I want to give a special thanks to the hundreds of thousands of American Muslims who supported us in record numbers during the 2024 presidential election. It was incredible. We started off a little slow with you, but we made progress. The Muslim community stood with us in November, and as president, I will stand with you,” Trump stated.

The president also highlighted the significance of Ramadan, acknowledging the dedication of Muslims who fast from dawn to sunset, increase their prayers, and strengthen their devotion to God. He noted that every evening, families and friends gather to express gratitude and break their fast together, symbolizing unity and appreciation.

Additionally, Trump spoke about his administration’s diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords. “We are delivering on our promises to the Muslim community. My administration is engaged in tireless diplomacy to create lasting peace in the Middle East, expanding on the historic Abraham Accords—something everyone said was impossible. And now, we are going to start expanding them,” he declared.

The White House Iftar dinner is a longstanding tradition that honors Ramadan and demonstrates respect for the Muslim community. The event took place just days before Eid al-Fitr, set to be celebrated on March 31, marking the end of the holy month.

Trump’s participation and remarks at the Iftar dinner underscored his commitment to fostering positive relations with the Muslim community and promoting peace in the Middle East.
