Trump Claims Iran’s Military ‘Literally Obliterated’ After Massive U.S. Strikes

U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that Iranian military forces have been “literally obliterated” following weeks of intense U.S. and allied strikes in the escalating conflict with Iran.

Speaking to reporters during a briefing on the latest military operations, Trump said the ongoing campaign has inflicted devastating damage on Iran’s armed forces and military infrastructure. According to the president, U.S. forces have struck more than 7,000 targets across Iran, including missile bases, radar systems, naval assets, and military installations.

Trump described the operation as one of the most extensive air and missile campaigns in modern Middle Eastern warfare.

“They have been literally obliterated,” Trump said, referring to Iran’s military capabilities after the sustained bombing campaign.

Massive Strikes on Strategic Targets

One of the most significant operations occurred on Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export hub located in the Persian Gulf. U.S. forces conducted a large-scale precision bombing raid targeting military facilities used to support Iranian operations in the nearby Strait of Hormuz.

The strike destroyed more than 90 military sites, including missile storage bunkers, naval mine depots, and air-defense systems. However, oil infrastructure on the island was deliberately spared to avoid triggering a major global energy crisis.

Trump warned that if Iran continues to threaten shipping routes or attack vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the United States could expand its strikes to energy infrastructure on the island.

Regional Tensions Continue to Rise

Despite Trump’s claim that Iran’s military has been devastated, the conflict remains active across the region. Iranian forces have carried out retaliatory missile and drone attacks against U.S. positions and allied targets in the Gulf.

For example, Iranian strikes hit areas near the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, damaging buildings and injuring civilians and military personnel.

At the same time, the U.S. military has acknowledged casualties from the conflict. Reports indicate that more than 200 American service members have been wounded, while at least 13 U.S. personnel have died in various incidents linked to the war.

Uncertain Outcome of the Conflict

While U.S. officials say the strikes have severely damaged Iran’s military capabilities, intelligence assessments suggest the Iranian government remains intact and continues to consolidate power internally.

Analysts warn that the war could escalate further if attacks continue in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint that handles roughly 20% of the world’s oil shipments.

For now, Trump maintains that the campaign has delivered a decisive blow to Iran’s military strength, but the broader geopolitical consequences of the conflict remain uncertain as the crisis unfolds across the Middle East.
