National Security Advisor Mike Waltz has addressed criticism over the accidental inclusion of journalist Jeffrey Goldberg in a Signal group chat discussing U.S. military operations in Yemen. Waltz called the incident “embarrassing” and vowed to investigate how it happened.
In an interview, Waltz admitted he was unsure how Goldberg’s contact was added, suggesting a possible technical issue. He mentioned consulting experts, including Elon Musk, to understand the error. Despite concerns, President Trump defended Waltz, downplaying the situation and emphasizing that no classified information was compromised.
The leak has sparked security concerns, with Democratic senators calling for an investigation. Some Republicans have also raised questions about the use of unsecured channels for sensitive discussions. Waltz assured that measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
