In the aftermath of the UPS cargo-plane crash near Louisville, a ripple effect has impacted nearby businesses — including Stooges Bar & Grill, which had to close due to contamination and safety concerns. The shutdown left 43 employees temporarily out of work, struggling amid the chaos.
Recognizing the hardship, O’Dolly’s Lounge & Restaurant has stepped forward to offer temporary employment to the displaced workers. This initiative ensures staff can continue earning wages while their usual workplace remains inaccessible.
Debbie Self, owner of Stooges Bar & Grill, expressed gratitude for the support and highlighted ongoing efforts to assist her team. She also started a GoFundMe campaign and is providing meals for first responders working at the crash site. “We’re doing everything we can for our staff and community,” Self said.
The gesture underscores the importance of community solidarity in times of crisis. While the UPS crash caused devastating disruption, it also inspired neighboring businesses to support those affected, ensuring families and livelihoods remain protected during an uncertain time.
For the displaced workers, the temporary jobs at O’Dolly’s are more than a paycheck — they’re a lifeline and a reminder of the community’s resilience.
