Stewart Rhodes, the founder of the Oath Keepers, has been barred from entering Washington, D.C., or the U.S. Capitol without explicit court permission. This restriction was imposed by U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta after Rhodes received a commutation of his 18-year prison sentence from President Donald Trump.

The ruling also extends to seven other defendants convicted of seditious conspiracy for their roles in the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack. Concerns arose after Rhodes made an unapproved visit to the Capitol, prompting the court to enforce stricter conditions. The move highlights ongoing vigilance against potential threats from individuals involved in the insurrection, even post-clemency.
