Israel Revises Account of Killing 15 Emergency Workers in Gaza

Israel’s military has revised its initial statement regarding the deaths of 15 emergency workers in Gaza on March 23, 2025. Initially, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) claimed they targeted unmarked vehicles at night, resulting in the deaths of nine Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants. However, new video evidence and survivor testimonies have contradicted this account, showing that the vehicles were clearly marked ambulances with emergency lights.

The IDF has since acknowledged the possibility of errors in their earlier report and is investigating the incident. The revised account has sparked widespread international criticism, with humanitarian organizations and the United Nations calling for a full independent investigation. They emphasize that the medics were working to save lives, not participate in combat.

The Palestinian Red Crescent has also demanded accountability, highlighting the need for transparency and justice for those who lost their lives while providing crucial medical services.
