The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that among the bodies recently returned by Hamas, the remains of young brothers Ariel and Kfir Bibas were identified. However, the body initially believed to be their mother, Shiri Bibas, does not match her identity or that of any known hostage. This revelation has sparked outrage in Israel, with officials calling it a violation of agreements made during negotiations.
The handover took place in Khan Younis, Gaza, where Hamas transferred four coffins to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The event was criticized for being highly publicized, with the ICRC emphasizing that such transfers should be handled discreetly out of respect for the victims and their families.
The bodies were taken to Tel Aviv for forensic analysis. While Ariel and Kfir were identified, the third body’s identity remains uncertain, deepening the pain for the Bibas family and the Israeli public. This development has intensified demands for Hamas to release all hostages and provide accurate information about their fates.
As negotiations continue, international pressure is mounting for a resolution to the hostage crisis.
