France is on the verge of a major political reshuffle after caretaker Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that President Emmanuel Macron could name a new prime minister within 48 hours. In a televised interview on Wednesday, Lecornu revealed that discussions with political leaders from across the spectrum had yielded enough progress for Macron to move forward.
“I told the President that I believe the conditions are in place to appoint a new prime minister within the next 48 hours,” Lecornu said.
