A heartbroken father, Jeff Metcalf, has shared his grief after his 17-year-old son, Austin, was tragically stabbed during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas. Austin, a junior at Memorial High School, was fatally stabbed in the chest by a 17-year-old student from another school after a dispute over seating at the delayed competition.
Austin’s twin brother, Hunter, was present during the incident and desperately tried to save him, holding him as he bled. Jeff Metcalf expressed the pain of losing his son, saying, “My son is gone, and he’ll never come home again. Austin was the light of my life.”
The Metcalf family has asked the public to refrain from speculating about the motive behind the stabbing, urging that it be viewed as a tragic human incident and not politicized. Despite the unimaginable loss, Jeff chose forgiveness for his own peace.
The suspect has been arrested and charged with murder. The Frisco community continues to mourn the loss, with vigils and support pouring in for the family during this difficult time.
