Musk stressed the urgency of cutting bureaucratic red tape, claiming the U.S. should not “live in a bureaucracy.” He cited examples of inefficiency, such as questionable Social Security recipients and overpaid federal workers.
Critics have accused DOGE of orchestrating a “billionaire-led coup,” pointing to the aggressive downsizing of agencies like the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). However, Musk defended the restructuring as transparent and aligned with the administration’s vision for a leaner government.
Despite mounting legal challenges and public backlash, both Trump and Musk remain firm in their commitment to reshaping the federal system.
