The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is set to terminate hundreds of senior leaders this week as part of the Trump administration’s efforts to restructure agencies in line with its policy goals. This move aims to remove personnel deemed unsupportive of the administration’s agenda.
Previously, DHS fired four high-ranking officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) over unauthorized payments for migrant accommodations in New York City. Additionally, two senior Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials were reassigned for failing to meet deportation and arrest targets.
These actions reflect the administration’s increased oversight of DHS and could significantly impact the department’s leadership structure and operational effectiveness in the near future.
