In a historic and highly anticipated address, President Donald Trump spoke to the nation following confirmed U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. The televised speech comes just hours after American stealth bombers and naval forces launched precision strikes on multiple high-value targets deep inside Iran.

Trump Confirms “Spectacular” Strike on Iran

Standing at the White House press podium, Trump described the strikes as a “decisive, surgical operation to neutralize a grave threat to global peace.” According to Trump, the U.S. targeted Iran’s key nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, using B‑2 Spirit stealth bombers equipped with Massive Ordnance Penetrators (MOPs), and guided missile destroyers firing Tomahawk cruise missiles.

“These facilities were not just power plants—they were the core of Iran’s illegal nuclear weapons ambitions,” Trump stated. “We gave them every opportunity to choose peace. They chose escalation.”

Strategic Facilities Severely Damaged

Military analysts confirm that Fordow, a heavily fortified underground site built deep into a mountain, was likely hit by MOPs—30,000-pound bombs designed to destroy bunkers previously considered unreachable. The simultaneous strikes on Natanz and Isfahan reportedly aimed to cripple Iran’s uranium enrichment and research capabilities.

Although Iran’s state media has not yet acknowledged the full scale of damage, unverified satellite imagery suggests extensive destruction at at least two of the targeted locations.

Global Reaction and Calls for Restraint

The international community has responded with a mix of alarm and urgency. The United Nations Security Council has called for an emergency session, while Russia and China condemned the U.S. action as “reckless and destabilizing.”

Meanwhile, Israel, which has long urged stronger action against Iran’s nuclear program, has praised the strikes, calling them “necessary and long overdue.”

Within the U.S., Trump’s address drew strong support from Republican leaders, while Democratic lawmakers called for restraint and demanded Congressional oversight on any further military actions.

Iran Vows Retaliation

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard issued a brief but defiant response, vowing “severe and immediate retaliation.” Intelligence agencies now warn of potential asymmetric attacks on U.S. assets in the region, including in Iraq, Syria, and the Persian Gulf.

Trump: “Peace Through Strength”

In his closing remarks, Trump reiterated that the U.S. does not seek war but will not tolerate nuclear blackmail:

“We are a nation of peace, but we will never stand idle while a hostile regime threatens our cities, our allies, and our future.”

Trump’s statement underscores a strategic pivot from deterrence to direct action—a move that could shape the trajectory of U.S.-Iran relations for years to come.
